Kings Norton Handbells
Kings Norton Handbells re-formed in May 2010 with a few "train the trainer" sessions, before we started for real and we have now settled into a two-term pattern running roughly from September to January and from Post-Easter to July each year. For those interested in the technical aspects of our craft, we ring from numerical notation, either with a 12-bell set (one and half octaves) or with 3 octaves. All depends on our numbers and on the balance between experienced ringers and apprentices.
We are a friendly, welcoming bunch and we provide full support for our apprentices. Our team is a member of Handbell Ringers of Great Britain.
We meet on Monday afternoons from 3.00pm to 4.o0 pm and have enjoyed some joint sessions with some North Worcestershire neighbours. We managed to include some evening sessions in the autumn of 2013 for those who work, attend school/college or care for children, as well as those who have free afternoons, and will aim ot do so again this autumn.
Advent 2013 saw us ringing at various local places including both Grosvenor Court and Awdry Court as well as in the Service of 9 Lessons and Carols at St Nicolas.
